Dissonant Winds, Midnight Odyssey et... Hope Drone. L'Australie est sans conteste une très grande terre pour le black metal et cet album, Cloak of Ash, ne cesse de le souligner. Tout comme la pochette — trou abyssal dans une mer démontée semble-t-il —, la musique de Hope Drone vous entraîne dans une tempête sans issue la batterie vous secouera, les guitares vous noieront ; le chanteur, porté par des textes nihilistes et poétiques, s'assurera que vous restiez sous les eaux. Indispensable.

This review is long overdue. This album right here is the album that finally pulled me out of the "commercial" music world and into the world of the raw, experimental, and sincere. An amalgamation of everything I love about post-metal and hardcore taken to a mathy, heavy, ambient extreme.
